A clear structure for Describe Image practice
Read the chart before you start speaking
This prompt compares average weekly study hours across four subjects. Design is highest at 10 hours, History is lowest at 6, Biology is 8 and Economics is 7. Use the 25-second preparation period to read the title and labels, identify the largest and smallest values, and choose one comparison. The example data is intentionally simple so you can spend your attention on organizing speech rather than decoding a crowded graphic.
Give an overview before details
A useful response usually opens by naming what the visual compares and describing its main pattern. Follow with two or three details that support the overview. In this chart, you can say that weekly study time ranges from six to ten hours, then compare Design with History. Avoid reading every label as a disconnected list. If a chart contains several series or units, identify those units before comparing values so that your description remains accurate.
Record once, then review the message
Pearson's current task instructions provide 25 seconds to study the image and prepare, followed by up to 40 seconds to answer. This practice page uses the same time windows as a guide, but your browser microphone permissions and device controls determine the recording experience. After recording, replay and ask: did I state the overall trend, support it with accurate details, and finish clearly? The checklist is more useful than counting how many words you spoke.
